Every new year is brought n with a few resolutions and a lot of promises. And the old year is given a grand farewell after a careful reflection on the days and months that passed by. Before I start blogging in the new Year, I need to take a walk down memory lane to catch a glimpse of another beautiful year that passed by.
The Year 2008 was wonderful in many aspects. I had lots and lots of fun -

Flickring: I was really hooked on to flickr. Thankfully I've recovered. But I enjoyed the comments on my pictures, drooled over the pictures by some wonderful people and learnt a few things affiliated to photography. The bonus: Friends like Galdo, Madhu, Vishal, Devdatta, Anoop and John.

Blogging: I blogged like a maniac, enjoying every moment of it. It's elating to read the posts after a long time. My blog kept me hooked on to my habit of diary-writing which I once pursued religiously (blogging replaced diary-writing). I love my blog...err...blogs (I've quite a few of them).

Travelling extensively: Aah! Bliss! The year that went by saw me packing suitcases, unpacking them, packing them again and then unpacking them only to pack them back. I made more than four visits to Kerala, two visits to Chennai, one visit to Goa, a 700 kms trip that covered Bombay - Bangalore - Mysore - Coorg - Ooty - Bombay. An adventure and masti bhara year. I also mustered enough courage to travel by air to Singapore and I don't regret it.

TFN: The Tour For Nilgiris was another amazing thing to happen last year. My very good friend Rajesh Nair (my hubby's namesake) initiated a cycle ride that covered 919 kms from Bangalore - Mysore - Coorg - Sultan Battery - Ooty - Mysore - Bangalore. What started as a dream for one became a mass ride and took shape as the TFN with more than 40 cyclists participating in it. It was a huge motivation for me to see all of them ride, though I did not ride. I still have to build up my endurance level to ride an average of 135 kms a day. Hopefully this year I will :)

My new Raleigh: Bought myself a new Raleigh...it rocks man!

Class of 99: Another great thing to happen. A bunch of teenagers who never interacted much in college (for whatever reasons)during their grad days came together and got along like a house on fire. Giggling, clicking pictures, talking about the youthful college days, trying matchmaking for their single counterparts...fun...pure unadulterated fun! Thanks Florence for taking the initiative. If it wasn't for you we would never have got together. Pearl, Vandy, Priya, Megha, Smita and Uma - I really freaked out with your girls. Looking forward to the date at Barbeque Nation. And Tansa, dying to see you.

The new house: Finally we moved into our new house. It's paradise. It's the result of efforts that span across years.

Siddharth weds Tejal: Yeah, a courtship of nine years that finally resulted in marriage. Happy beginning to a new life.

After 13 years: I got onto a bike and whispered to the wind. And now I'm yearning for more. Thanks Selvin for the beautiful ride and the magical 'Rock On' concert:)

Influences: Kedar Vashi who had immense faith in me. Thank you so much for making me realise my potential. If it wasn't for you I would have stayed where I was. And thank you Nawaz for teaching me what a trainer shouldn't be. I would never want to emulate you...SORRY!

My family: I had beautiful moments with Raj and my kids. Moments that will be cherished all my life. Life is beautiful because of you.

Friends: I made a few friends this year. Laurent, Ramya, Varsha, Dileep and Ajay. Welcome to my life.

That's it! Happy New Year.
